We are in the middle of week 2 of self isolation and everyone is home. People are leaving the house less and less and using what we have to make do. In our house, we have gotten tired of mystery meals from the freezer and have begun venturing into the pantry and cupboards.
This virus and the isolation gives us the opporutnity to reconnect and start cooking together again because we have the time. Make it a game. Each person goes to the pantry and finds an ingredient. Bring all the supplies to the dining room table and brainstorm a recipe.
It’s time to calm down and help our kids back to a bit of normalcy. Cooking does that. Being creative takes our minds off of what scares us.
If you want to take it the next step further, FaceTime with the grandparents and cook together. Wouldn’t it be funny if they had the same random ingredients in their pantry and you could cook the same meal together?
