It’s been a long week and we are only at the half way mark. There has been a full super moon, day light savings time, mercury came out of retrograde, and friday the 13th is coming up soon.
You feeling it? I totally am. My daughter woke up yesterday, struggling with the time change. She is usually really good about doing her homework in the morning because she gets home so late from dance. This particular morning, she was done. After breakfast, she turned me to and said “I am too tired to do my homework today. I think I am going to use my homework pass.”
You see, her math teacher gives each kid one homework pass each month which means they won’t get in trouble if they don’t do their homework.
I told mina that I wished I could have a homework pass and not have to work because I was feeling tired and overwhelmed.
I tried to work, I really did, but man was I beyond tired. What I realized I needed was sun and some dirt to stick my feet in.
I needed to ground.
I needed to feel the dirt beneath my feet and release all this built up crap into the ground. I have always been a barefoot girl and feel so confined when wearing shoes. I know there is a science to grounding or earthing, but I don’t need to know which ions I am releasing or what ions i am absorbing. All I know, is that taking the time to reconnect with the outside helps me feel better and clear headed.
It doesn’t cost a thing to take some time in the sun and ground yourself. It doesn’t take a lot of time to visualize all those stressors or anxiety flow down in the ground.
Sometimes all you need is a minute. So give yourself a “Pass” today.. you tell everyone that I told you so!
